Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics. We offer excellent benefits, the opportunity to work in the field and solid career growth opportunities. We own and operate one of the largest fleets of yellow iron in the state and we've got the work to keep you busy.

If you've got experience working on scrapers, dozers, motor graders and excavators, and want to keep working on them, this is the spot for you.


  • Operate a Mechanic truck on job sites throughout the Southwest
  • Troubleshoot issues in the field using SIS and ET systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Perform repairs on CAT earth-moving equipment and/or related equipment

Required Skills (Safety Sensitive Position)

  • Lift/load/unload and carry up to 50 lbs
  • The ability to walk, sit, squat, get in/out of equipment safely, stand and bend for long periods of time
  • Practice the safe use of hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinding machines, welding and flame-cutting equipment and jacks and hoists to lift and move large parts
  • Complete Pre and Post-Trip Inspections, maintain electronic driver logs and ensure DOT compliance


  • 2 years experience working directly on the repair of CAT heavy equipment
  • Personal Tooling
  • An acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card
